Magdalena Schaffrin, fashion designer

German living in Berlin.

Launching and working on my eponymous eco fashion label.

Berlin, for its openness and good restaurants. Stockholm to visit my friends and for its beauty: it’s fabulous to be in a city and in nature by the sea at the same time; for its wonderful bar “Gondolen”.

Martin-Gropius-Bau in Kreuzberg, always has inspiring exhibitions.
Diwan Bio-Restaurant, Bergmannstr. Kreuzberg.
Nansen, very good food for reasonable prices, Neukölln.
Café Jacques, good food and very friendly atmosphere, Maybachufer, Neukölln.
Green Door, cocktail bar, Schöneberg.
For sure one of the best coffees in Berlin: Monsieur Ibrahim, Kreuzberg.
Clärchens Ballhaus, Mitte. Never ever again techno! A classic place to dance, where you won’t leave before the following morning. Live music at weekends.
Achteinhalb Wochen Store (, concept store at different locations, now extended to 3 months at a time. Stadtbad Neukölln, the most beautiful place to swim and to have a sauna.
Take a lake-boat-trip, starting at Wannsee; and visit the Sacrower Heilandskirche. Beautiful organic fabrics:

Eco Tip

Go by bike, you see more and experience the city better. Consume less at better quality. Apart from biking around town I am happy to be producing ecologically sound clothes.
